Standard Remount Conversion Description


Upon Receipt of the vehicle to be remounted Arrow performs a check out list to become familiar with the vehicle, this helps us confirm all options the vehicle currently has and also reveals any existing problems.




Dismounting & Inspection


Arrow shall Dismount the Modular Body from the chassis & start the complete inspection of the modular body. Arrow shall inspect the modular body from top to bottom, looking for cracks, stress points, and any defects. In the event Arrow discovers a problem, the customer will be notified of the situation and the options recommended.




Rear Step and Bumper


Arrow shall Remove rear step and bumper from old chassis. Inspect original step and bumper. Bolt original bumper to new chassis frame.




Preparing Modular for Mounting


Arrow shall prepare the front side of the modular to accommodate the new chassis. Remove the entire front wall and install new skin to allow for the new cab contour.




Replace boot between module and chassis (Type I)


Replace seal between module and cab (Type III)


The front wall will be painted to match the new chassis exterior finish.




Mounting Modular Body


After the chassis has been prepared for the modular, the modular can be remounted using grade 8 bolts, and new rubber mounting pucks. A double gasket is installed between the cab and modular to insure a watertight seal.




Body shall not be welded at any point to the frame.




Exterior Compartments and Door Hardware


Check exterior compartments for alignment. All latches and door hold open devices shall be removed, cleaned and inspected. All latch and door hold open hardware is reinstalled and adjusted to open and close properly. All locks are cleaned and replaced as needed. All door gaskets and weather seals are replaced. All door latches and locks shall be lubricated for proper operation. All drains and venting shall be inspected. Any defective hardware shall be notified to the customer.




Exterior Body Hardware


All Rub Rails, Running Boards, Bumper Ends, Rock Guards, and Fender Flares are cleaned and polished. New stainless steel fasteners are used to reinstall all exterior parts. Any defective parts shall be notified to the customer.




Body Interior


The entire interior of the modular is inspected, including all floor and cabinet moldings, Plexiglas, Formica and upholstery. All cabinetry shall be inspected for proper operation. Any minor trim damage, Formica cracks, broken Plexiglas, torn upholstery, etc. are repaired. The cot mounting system is adjusted, lubricated and tested for proper operation. Any major defects to the interior of the modular shall be notified to the customer.




All Formica, cabinetry and upholstery shall be cleaned. Plexiglas shall be cleaned and tracks inspected for proper operation.




Electrical System


The entire Power Distribution Quarters shall be replaced. This includes all circuit breakers, relays, solenoids, diodes, wiring harness looms, etc. The front and rear switch consoles are replaced including Amp & Volt Meters, all switches, & labels with back lighting. The siren head and amp are reused. All door switches are replaced.




The factory Ford Engine Idler is mounted under the driver’s seat and programmed to activate with the Emergency Brake. The entire 115VAC system is inspected and tested replacing any outlets, covers and shoreline inlets as needed. If the unit has an inverter the inverter is completely cleaned, tested and reinstalled.




Lighting


All lighting inside & outside of the entire modular shall be removed. All lenses shall be cleaned and waxed with new mounting gaskets. Any defective lights shall be notified to the customer.




Heating & Cooling


The entire Heat/AC system shall be replaced with a new system. This system shall include all hoses, fittings, switches, thermostat, etc.




Pre Delivery Check-out and Testing


Arrow shall perform a complete checkout and inspection. The electrical system shall be load tested for 5 hours. The oxygen system shall be leak tested for 24 hours with regulators and flow meters connected. The remounted vehicle shall be road tested a minimum of thirty (30) miles. The remounted vehicle is leak tested for water leaks, dust and exhaust fumes. The complete checkout form will be forwarded to the customer along with the wiring diagrams, warranty papers, and portable parts kit.
